John Victor (JV) Askem died of a brain tumor March 16, 2003 at age 56. He was a weightlifting and strongman coach, author, writer, and held Washington state deadlift records in the masters age group.

This is an OntarioStrongman.ca partial mirror of his website, exactly as JV had published it, comprising the bulk of his training articles. Although his original site has vanished from the internet, it was an invaluable training reference for thousands, and should remain so.
